Healths Benefits Of Pomegranate Pomegranates are rich in antioxidant phytochemicals that can have a healthy impact on your body. Eating pomegranates seeds, which are called ‘arils,’ or drinking the pomegranate juice my help prevent some types of cancer, reduce the build up of plaque that leads to atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries), and help keep your cholesterol levels in check. including total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol (the good kind) and LDL cholesterol (the bad kind).

It might be easier to buy pomegranate juice because removing all the arils from white membranous tissue in the fruit is kind of a pain. You’ll lose a bit of fiber, but you’ll still get all the other nutrients. But, if you look in the produce section of your grocery sore, you might be able to find pomegranate arils that have already been removed from the fruit.
