Try a salad made from arugula, sliced pear, walnuts and gorgonzola cheese and top with a simple vinaigrette. Actually, sliced pears make a nice addition to any garden salad. You can also add them to a cheese and fruit tray.
Pears are available year round in the produce section of your grocery store. Choose pears that have a firm flesh and unblemished skin. Canned pears are also available, usually packed in syrup.
