Cucumbers also add to your daily intake of vitamins C and A, plus B complex vitamins and magnesium. In addition, they have lignans, which are plant chemicals that are good for your heart. How good are cucumbers for your diet? They’re awesome because they’re super low in calories. One cup of raw cucumber slices has only 16 calories so you can munch on them all day long. Add cucumber chunks to green salad or combine them with chopped tomatoes and a little lime juice. A slice or two of cucumber will also add a little flavor to boring tap water. Cucumbers are easy to find — they’re available year round in the produce section of your grocery store.
