How to Make a Perfectly Healthy Smoothie Smoothies are big these days. You’ll find them in juice shops, coffee shops, diners and even fast food restaurants. Drinking a smoothie can be a great way to get a bunch of fresh fruits and even some healthy fats and protein into your diet.

Make a delicious and healthful fruit smoothie at home. You’ll need a blender. Combine a banana, one cup milk (cows milk, almond milk, rice milk, or soy milk), a tablespoon of plain yogurt or peanut butter and a half cup of berries (blueberries, strawberries or raspberries) and blend until the mixture is smooth.

Pro tip: peel and slice a banana and freeze them on a tray. Once frozen, put them in a freezer bag. Use a few frozen banana chunks to give your smoothie a frostier texture. Ice cubes will also work if you have a powerful blender (otherwise you’ll have to deal with a few ice chunks in your smoothie.
